My books

I was writing novels long before I trained as a celebrant, and honestly, it might have been the best accidental training I could’ve had. My books are full of love, lies, and all the gloriously messy bits in between—think heartfelt moments, questionable decisions, and the occasional dramatic exit. I like flawed characters, unexpected twists, and endings that feel earned. Turns out, that kind of storytelling translates surprisingly well to real life (minus the cliffhangers and plot twists... usually).

Getting published was a dream come true—right up until I realised it’s like handing your newborn over to someone who renames it, dresses it in clothes you’d never choose, and leaves it outside in the rain. Still, I wouldn’t trade it. Much. Most days.

Husbands and Lies (2002)

Torn between suspicion and love, life for Fran just got very complicated - can her marriage survive?

Nine Lives (2017)

Disclaimer: I don’t believe in an afterlife, guardian angels, or any kind of cosmic admin department that gives us extra chances. But that didn’t stop me from writing this story.

Christine Buchanan is twenty-eight, pregnant and desperate when she attempts to throw herself from the Forth Road Bridge. The last thing she expects is salvation in the form of Gavin, a disaffected youth with a chip on his shoulder. But in a twist of irony Gavin himself is already dead, having killed himself the previous evening. He's now stuck in limbo with a penance to pay before he'll be considered for entry into heaven. Guided by his spiritual mentor, a bible-bashing angel called Clavis, Gavin embarks on a journey of self-discovery that leads him to discovering the answer to the question that hangs over all of us: the reason for his existence. But by the time he's earned his place in paradise, the very thing that drove him to suicide in the first place has come full circle and he can't go.
